Join us during the Bickley Harvest Festival for guided day tours of Perth Observatory, running on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the festival.
Bring your family and friends to discover one of Perth’s hidden gems, the beautiful Bickley Valley. Make a day of it by taking a scenic drive through the valley and exploring the incredible local produce from our renowned cideries, distilleries, orchards, and wineries.
During your visit, our knowledgeable guides will take you on a fascinating journey through the history of Perth Observatory. Learn about the Observatory’s beginnings on Mt Eliza in 1896, discover how astronomers once kept time for the state, and explore our museum filled with stories, artefacts, and discoveries from both past and present.
Weather permitting, you’ll also have the chance to safely observe the Sun through our Solar Telescopes, and step inside several of our historic domes including the Meridian, Astrograph, and Calver telescopes.
While you are here, enjoy a stroll through our peaceful bushland grounds and see if you can spot the hidden fairy doors along the way. There will also be free activities for children, making it a fun and engaging experience for the whole family.
Each tour includes a complimentary tea or coffee to enjoy during your visit.

Supanova Studio will provide special packaging so you can safely take your handmade creations home straight away, with no need to wait for them to dry.
