Come and explore the breathtaking night sky through our impressive collection of telescopes. Our knowledgeable volunteer astronomers invite you to discover some of the most captivating sights in the Southern Hemisphere, including glowing nebulae, dying stars, vast star clusters, and the Moon and planets when visible.

This experience is designed as a low-sensory, relaxed evening, allowing you to explore our telescope domes at your own pace. The session is self-guided, with staggered booking times to reduce crowding and create a calm, comfortable environment. Our astronomers will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions and offer guidance if you wish.

Sky object fact sheets will be available on arrival to help you identify and learn more about what you are observing.

Session times (limited numbers):

7.30 pm to 8.15 pm, maximum 30 participants
8.15 pm to 9.00 pm, maximum 30 participants

Arrive 30 minutes beforehand, if you’d like to look through our museum and browse the 2024 Astrofest Astrophotography Exhibition.
