Join us for a magical day of exploration, creativity, and discovery at Perth Observatory.
Families are invited to wander our historic grounds in search of the hidden Cosmic Fairy Doors. Children will go on a special discovery mission, finding fairy doors around the Observatory and collecting stamps along the way. Once the mission is complete, each child will receive a small prize.
Every group booking will receive a free copy of Out and About with Artemis at Perth Observatory, a fun and engaging book designed to extend the experience beyond the day.
Throughout your visit, you will also have the opportunity to learn about the rich history of Perth Observatory in a family-friendly way, while enjoying a wide range of activities set up across our grounds. These include a bouncy castle, big bubble play, face painting, lawn games, and hands-on arts and crafts activities.
Weather permitting, families will be able to take part in safe solar viewing and observe the Sun through our specialised telescopes.
This is a relaxed outdoor event, so feel free to bring your own picnic blankets and camp chairs to make yourselves comfortable while enjoying the activities and the unique bushland setting.

To make a booking for the Cosmic Fairy Door Discovery Day, simply enter the number of people attending and select the desired date from the booking calendar. Dates with green backgrounds indicate available spots, while red backgrounds denote fully booked tours and yellow highlights today’s date.
Once you have selected your desired tour date, click the “Book Now” button to proceed to the checkout section, where you can complete your payment. You will receive a confirmation email once your booking is complete, and on the night of the tour, our host will ask for the name under which the booking was made and mark you off on the booking sheet.
