This year our Lowell dome and telescope is turning 50. Join us at the Perth Observatory to celebrate this wonderful telescope and learn about all the amazing things it has accomplished in its 50 years. Come early for a guided tour of the Lowell dome, and see where the Astronomers worked! Take a walk back through time as you meander through our museum and observatory halls.

You’ll see special displays showcasing some of the technology used when the Lowell telescope was first in use including its photographs and discoveries. Enjoy a presentation from past Lowell Astronomer Peter Birch, as he sheds some light on what it was like to work at the Lowell back in “the good old days”.

If you wish to stay and have dinner on our back lawn, the Lesmurdie Club will be selling meals from around the world.

Prizes for the Lowell Art Competition will be drawn at the end of the night. More details are provided below.
